15 Kilograms of human hair was seized at Sabiha Gökçen Airport

Human hair weighing 15 kilograms worth 350 thousand pounds was seized in the suitcase of a passenger arriving from Iran by Customs Enforcement teams as part of their work at Sabiha Gokcen Airport. An investigation has been launched into the incident.

A passenger arriving from Iran was followed up as part of the work carried out by the teams of the Istanbul Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate at Sabiha Gokcen Airport.

The accompanying suitcase of the passenger who arrived on the Tehran-Istanbul flight was checked by passing through an x-ray scan before being sent to the passenger lounge.

After suspicious density was observed in the suitcase, it was given to the band and simultaneous tracking was started. On the other hand, the suspect who finished the passport procedures and came to the passenger lounge took his suitcase from the tape and headed towards the exit unaware that he was being followed. At this stage, the intervention was carried out by the teams and the passenger was directed to the goods control.

The suitcase belonging to the suspect was again x-rayed in the passenger lounge and then subjected to a physical search.During the searches, it was seen that the suitcase was filled with human hair of various colors.

As a result of the operation, 92 ties of human hair weighing a total of 15 kilograms were seized, and it was determined that the hair was worth 350 thousand pounds. An investigation has been launched by the Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the incident.
